Title: General Artemas Ward
Description: General Artemas Ward is a bronze statue by Leonard Crunelle at Ward Circle, at the intersection of Nebraska Avenue and Massachusetts Avenues in Northwest, Washington, D.C. As a part of bequest of George Artemas Ward, great grandson of the general, to Harvard University, the sculpture was funded for $50,000. Increases in the cost of bronze made an equestrian memorial un-affordable. It was dedicated on November 3, 1938, and authorized by (45 Stat. 689). The base of the statue bears this inscription: As part of American Revolution Statuary in Washington, D.C. the statue is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
